Hollie Steel (born July 1, 1998) is a schoolgirl and performer from Accrington, England, who is now studying at Accrington College. Her first television appearance was in 2009, when she was 10 years old, when she was one of ten finalists on the third season of the ITV reality programme Britain’s Got Talent. Almost all of the show’s judges gave her a favourable response when she performed her initial audition. Steel’s second performance, during the semi-finals, was marred by the fact that she had forgotten the lyrics to her song. She was given a second opportunity and managed to finish the song without any difficulty. Steel made it to the finals and ended in sixth place in the competition. In the summer of 2009, she embarked on a tour of the United Kingdom, where she performed alongside the previous series’ finalists in live performances. Steel and her family established a record company, BB5 Records, in September 2009, and she immediately began recording her first album, Hollie, which was released in May of the following year. The album was released in Hong Kong and the United Kingdom. Steel released a second album in late 2011 and a third album in early 2012, all of which were critically acclaimed.
